Unlocking hyperlinks

Please use the steps below to extract data and work with hyperlinks in your linked spreadsheet.

Step One

Right click in your Local Disk C: and create a new folder with a name of the project or similar. It is at your discretion what you name the folder.

Step Two

On the email that has been sent to you, right click on the ZIP FOLDER then click  DOWNLOAD, or depending on your email system the option may be to SAVE AS.


SAVE AS option - If your system gives you the ‘Save As’ option, please ‘Save’ the folder into your Downloads


Or


DOWNLOAD  option - If your system provides you with the ‘Download’ option, download the zip folder then please go to the ‘Download’ folder on your PC here:



‘Copy’ the Zip Folder in your Downloads and ‘Paste’ this into the newly created folder in STEP ONE.

Step Three

Go to the Zip Folder you have saved in the newly created folder in STEP ONE. You need to extract the files in this Zip Folder.

  • Right click on the Zip folder.

  • Select ‘Extract All’. This should take you to your newly created folder however you could click browse select Location Disk C: and find your new folder then click ‘Extract’.

Step Four

In your new folder you will see the files are unzipped. There should be an excel spreadsheet and a folder with reports and the original zipped folder.


(Please note that the report folder and the excel spreadsheet need to be in the same folder for hyperlinks to work. Do not put the excel spreadsheet into the report folder.)

Step Five

When you open the ‘Excel Spreadsheet’, under the ‘’Link to Report’ column you will see the hyperlink for each specific penetration reference. Microsoft Excel security notice may pop up. Click yes and the hyperlink will work. (This is standard Microsoft security, as the link is to a PDF, all will be OK).


Step Six

Move your newly named folder to a desired destination within your Company's system for your records.
