Importing Data into Sub Forms

Importing Data into Sub Forms

Any images displayed are representative only and may differ depending on the version being used.

To add a new sub-form into an inspection from Excel you need to follow the following steps.

Preparing the data in a spreadsheet

To get a spreadsheet with the correct headers for a sub-form please contact Clarinspect Support.

Once you have a spreadsheet you can enter the data - one item per row.

Entering text: Simply type into the relevant cell

Entering list items: You will need to know the exact list items and their ‘lookup’ value. In Clarinspect, every item in a drop down list has the word you see and a ‘lookup value’ in the background. Ask Clarinspect Support for the lookups for your drop down lists.

GPS Fields : when loading GPS data from excel you need to ensure it is in the format shown below; "latitude, longitude". No spaces and only decimal numbers separated by a comma. There is a single comma in the middle separating the latitude and longitude coordinates. It can have a negative at the front of a number and the decimal point is fine too.

For example: -38.337244,176.391744

Date and Time Fields: These needed to be loaded as YYYY-MM-DD and HH:MM:SS

Save in a format for loading

Save the file as an .xlsx (for your records) and also as a CSV UTF-8 (this is what you will be importing back into the hub).

Importing Data

In your inspection on the Hub, sub-forms that have a green drop down will have the option to import data from a CSV file.

Follow the prompts as below.
