Life Cycle of a Work Package

Life Cycle of a Work Package

A Work Package can represent a site, a type of work, or a period of time.

However you define how to use your Work Packages, they have different states of existence.

Workpackages can be

  • Draft

  • Active

  • Archived

  • On Hold

Draft Work Packages

Work Packages can be created by selecting either ‘Create’ or ‘Duplicate’. Once created and saved, they remain in draft status until activated.

You might begin setting up a Work Package and choose to ‘Save’ your progress, then return to it later when you're ready to activate and finalise the setup.

To find a Work Package that is in a draft state, just use the ‘Status’ filter on the right of the screen and choose ‘Draft’, then press ‘Apply’

Active Work Packages

Work Packages which are active can be seen in your main Work Package hub view. They can be seen by:

Anyone who has ‘admin’ status

Anyone assigned to the Work Package.

If someone cannot see a Work Package on the hub or their app, it is likely that they are not assigned. They can be assigned by an admin or Work Package manager via the settings screen.

If someone can see a Work Package on the hub but not on their app, it is likely that they need to sync their device to pull it through.

Archived Work Packages

Work Packages can be archived when they are no longer needed.

When a Work Package is archived, any work which is active on a device will be automatically returned to the hub as a draft the next time that device is synced.

Archived Work Packages can be found using the ‘Status’ filter on the right of the screen - choose ‘Archived’, then press ‘Apply’

Archived Work Packages can be Activated by pressing the blue ‘Activate’ button.

On Hold Work Packages

Work Packages can be On Hold when they are not needed for a time. This can help clean up the Work Package view while something is not actively being worked on.

Work Packages can be placed On Hold by pressing the ‘On Hold’ button
