Clarinspect Image files can be saved to external locations on your device e.g. your device photo gallery or SD cards . These are locations where you can use other apps to view or edit these images.
By saving images and then loading them into a different photo field you can effectively swap images around in the App.
Once loaded back into Clarinspect the copies can be safely deleted as necessary without affecting Clarinspect.
In Clarinspect locate the image in the inspection, and tap to open it. From the image menu in the top right corner, select 'Save image'. The image is saved to your default pictures location, and will be accessible through your image gallery app (it might take a few minutes to show up there). This image can be loaded into another inspection field - see the section below for how to do this. This is handy when you want to use the same image in many places in the app.
Open the Settings tab in the app.
Tap on Image Settings.
Tap the External photo storage setting to set a location, or set the switch to On. The location selector will open.
Make sure your SD card is selected or wherever you would like the images saved to.
Once selected, create a folder for Clarinspect to use.
After creating the folder, tap on it, to make sure the folder is open and then tap 'Use this folder'.
You may be prompted to grant access. If so tap 'Allow'
Your selected folder will be saved into the Settings. Any photos you take while using Clarinspect will be copied into this folder. You can change or turn off this setting at any time.
You can use your Gallery app to access these photos, and make edits to them if needed. Note however that these are copies of the original photos stored within Clarinspect, so any changes you make will not be reflected in the inspection they have been copied from. If you want these changes added to the inspection you'll need to select the file from the field you want to update - see the section on loading photos below
SD Card users - Choose a location on an SD card. This avoids filling up the storage that Clarinspect uses.
SD Card users - Do NOT choose the root (top) folder of the SD card - create a 'Clarinspect' folder on the target SD card.
SD Card users - Don't select the root (top) Downloads folder - if you want to use this folder, create a 'Clarinspect' folder within it.
DO NOT select a folder inside the Android/data folder - this is managed by Android and access may disappear in a future Android release.
If you delete the selected folder the save function will stop working until you select another folder.
If Clarinspect encounters problems with copying the photo into the selected folder you will be notified.
There are several reasons why this might occur, however the easiest solution is simply to reselect it from the settings.
.
If you wish to replace the image in the inspection use the Folder button on a photo field to select from this folder.
If selecting a photo saved from a one-off image save, it will be stored with the pictures. In this case it might be easier to use the Gallery app to locate the image. As above, tap the folder button on the field to load the image into. From the file chooser, open the top left 'hamburger' menu and select the Gallery app.
