Using the Site Plans on Work Packages

Using the Site Plans on Work Packages

Site Plans on a Work Package combine all annotations from work in a Work Package onto the site plans that were used on each and every inspection.

This allows you to see a plan and then every piece of work, and where it was located, and how the plan was marked up.

Until you have set the Zoom and text scale the drawing may look very crowded. Simply reduce the text scale, and zoom in to get the view you want.

Annotations for live work will change as the live work is updated. We recommend only re-arranging the annotations from finished work, as this does not change position!

Using Site Plans you can:

  • View all work for that Work Package

  • Move the annotations around for an improved view

  • Search by balloon text & automatic pan to location

  • Zoom in / out

  • Choose colour for display

  • Add new work to the current drawing directly

  • Add an annotated floor plan to any draft work that does not have a floor plan

  • Open a new tab for any inspection shown

When you have adjusted the picture to suit (zoomed, scaled and coloured) you can save or download the drawing.

Accessing Site Plans

Any images displayed are representative only and may differ depending on the version being used.

You can access Site Plans via the main menu under your Work Package if Site Plans have been used.

For instructions on working with Drawing Sets read the Clarinspect guide "Loading Drawing Sets".

Elements of Site Plans

  1. The Current Drawing: Here you can choose what drawing to view
  2. Rearrange Screen: Rearrange pins on drawing
  3. Choose Action: Download drawing/visible area, copy drawing/visible area to clipboard, download as PDF
  4. + -: Zoom in/out - You can zoom up to 150% of the original drawing size
  5. Add to Drawing: Add new or draft pin to drawing
  6. Filters: Filter what pins are visible by inspection type, state, who it is assigned to, date, inspection label
  7. Find Text Balloon: Find Text Balloon on drawing by looking through the list or searching the ID. This is especially useful if you have lots of pins!
  8. Drawing Settings: Customise how your pins appear on the drawing through scaling balloon text, changing balloon colour, hide or show balloon arrows, merging balloons, and hiding annotation type of choice.

Note: for a detailed guide on how to use the ‘Rearrange’ tool, see our user guide ‘Rearranging Text Balloons’

If the inspection is live and in use on the App, then the annotations may change or be moved, or be removed based on what the field staff do in the App.

In Site Plans you can move the annotations around. Click on the ends of text balloons, arrows and lines, and the drag handles for squares and circles. Changes are saved back to the Hub immediately after you make them.

Note: Changes on this screen do not affect the inspection data or report images.

Choose Action

From this menu you can

  • Download the drawing

  • Download the visible area

  • Copy the drawing to clipboard

  • Copy the visible area to clipboard

  • Download as PDF

Zooming

Use the +/- controls to controls to zoom in and zoom out.

Add to Drawing

This section is active only if a solution is chosen that can be added to a drawing. If the blue button is not disabled, click it to enter 'Add to Drawing Mode'.

Note: You can only add one inspection type at a time.

If there are two inspection types on a work package, you need to deselect one (get rid of the blue tick when in Site Plans) before it will work.

  1. If more than 1 inspection type is ticked, the ‘Add to Drawing’ button is disabled.

  2. As only one inspection type is ticked, this button will now work (note slightly different colour)

When in Drawing Mode, the Filters, Find Text Balloons and Drawing Settings  sections are hidden from view.

  1. The green button shows Add to Drawing is ‘ON’.

  1. These are fields from the chosen inspection type. The TOP field is what goes into the new text balloon.

  1. You can click on a draft inspection to fill in the fields above.

THEN you click on the drawing itself to place it.

The fields available in this section are set by Clarinspect when they configure the system for you.

Note: The very top field is the one that will go into the text balloon of any created inspections added to the Drawing.

To add a new inspection

  1. Fill in the fields.  The top field is what is going to appear in the balloon.
NOTE: You must complete all mandatory fields (*) before the ‘Save Inspection’ button becomes active

  2. Click on the drawing - a balloon will appear pointing where you clicked.

    • You can click and drag it if not quite placed correctly

  3. When you are happy, click on ‘Save Inspection’

    • This will create a new inspection in the Work Package. It will have a floor plan and a text balloon.

To place an existing draft inspection

If an inspection does not have a floor plan (for example if loaded from a schedule via 'Import CSV' on the Inspection List) then it will appear in the Draft inspections to add section.

  1. Click to highlight the desired draft inspection

  2. These fields will automatically be filled in

  3. Click on the drawing - a balloon will appear pointing where you clicked.

    • You can click and drag it if not quite placed correctly

  4. When you are happy, click the ‘Save Inspection’ button

Filters

This section is used to choose what is shown on the selected drawing.

  1. Click to roll-up / un-roll this section

  2. Type of inspections to show

  3. Search by part of the inspection name

  4. Show draft / active / finished work

  5. Filter by who is assigned

  6. Filter on date completed ( From / to dates)

Cancelled Inspections are never shown. Archived and finished inspections are included.

Tick the date box, and set the date to use in the filter, you do not need to set both dates. If you set only the ‘from date’ then you get all work completed since that date.

Note: Filters are applied immediately.

Note: Free-style shapes cannot be manipulated (moved) like the other shapes..

Top Tip : Set ‘Merge balloons within’ to 0 before applying filters.

This is found on the right hand side under Drawing Settings.

The annotations will appear more swiftly if the merging is turned off.

  1. Set to zero

Find Text Balloons

This section enables the user to locate a specific text balloon (inspection / feature).

The text balloons available to search through are filtered by the choices under Filters

You can further filter the list by searching on the balloon text.

Click the entry in the ‘Find Text Balloons’ list to bring that text balloon into view. The text balloon and the pointer will also be highlighted for you.

  1. Click here to pan drawing to the pointer tip, OR to show the text

  2. Search in the list by balloon text

  3. Click to highlight balloon on the drawing

  4. Link to the original inspection

By default if you click on an entry in the list, the drawing will pan to bring the pointer tip into view (i.e the thing being pointed at).

Similarly if you click on a text balloon or point on the drawing, this will highlight the entry in the Find text Balloons list.

You can click on the blue icon to open a new tab to look at the record for a specific item.

If the text balloon was linked to a subform (e.g. a scoped item on a survey, or a defect on an Inspection) then the survey will open and the inspection will scroll to the specific feature.

  1. Search for specific balloon - you can search by balloon point or by balloon text

  2. Click on list to highlight this on the Site Plan

  3. You can also click on the pointer tip, or text balloon to highlight in the list.

Drawing Settings

  1. Choose balloon size

  2. Choose balloon colour

  3. Click to show or hide balloon arrows

  4. Choose merge radius

  5. Tick the shapes to show on the drawing

  6. Hit Save when done with settings
