Loading Drawing Sets

Drawings sets serve three purposes:
  1. To provide the field staff with a consistent set of site plans / images that they can re-use

  2. To consolidate all annotations and inspections into one drawing (referred to as the 'Big Picture').

  3. To load Technical Support documents for Passive Fire

Drawing Sets can be reused over multiple Work Packages.

Clarinspect can enable this feature for you. When enabled, a new menu item appears in the Hub menu.

If you are loading Technical Support documents for Passive Fire, click here and read this document first.

Adding a new Drawing Set

Click on the Drawing Set menu. Click on 'Add Drawing Set'. Choose the category.

Give the Drawing Set a name (e.g. Parkside Hospital) and a description - what it is here for and how it should be used?

Click on 'Create New Drawing Set'.

Add a drawing to the Drawing Set

A Drawing Set can hold many drawings. Each drawing can have multiple versions.

Note: For more details on loading multi PDF’S, see our user guide ‘Loading Multi Page PDFs

Click on 'Add Drawing'. Give the drawing a name and (optionally) a version name (this may be the drawing revision number e.g. A2).

Drawings are listed in alphanumeric order as computers see it; e.g. 0,1,2,3...then A,B,C. To avoid strange ordering in the list (e.g. "First floor" then "Ground floor") we suggest you put a number in front of the name of each drawing e.g. 00 Ground floor, 01 First floor etc...

Click Load File... to choose the file that holds your drawing

Currently images (jpeg/jpg only) and PDF files can be loaded.

Choosing an image file will load it immediately.

Choosing a PDF will open the file and display all pages in the file, so you can choose the page with the drawing you want to load.

The drawing file is loaded. Depending on how complex the drawing is, it may take a few seconds to load.

Optional Step: "Replace File..." allows you to choose a different image or PDF if you chose the wrong one initially.

If you are adding a new version that does not line up with the current version (for example it is smaller, rotated or in a different place on the drawing), please contact Clarinspect Support and we can assist you with updating the version information in order to correctly position the annotations on this drawing.

Loading portrait images / Rotating drawings

If you have only been given a drawing for your site in portrait, then after loading you will be given a warning at the foot of the page. You can then rotate it using the rotate right / left buttons.

A Drawing or version can only be rotated before being saved.

When you have added a series of drawings to a Drawing Set you will have something like below:

Edit a drawing

Click on the Edit Version button or the Drawing Name. You will see all the versions of that drawing that have been loaded. The ”Current Version’ will have a thick green border.

Click on 'Edit Drawing' to update the drawing name.

For further information about editing or updating drawing versions, please visit Adding a New Version of  a Drawing

Add Drawing Sets to a Work Package in the Hub

The purpose of adding Drawing Sets is to issue them to staff in the field via the App. To do this, you can add Drawing Sets (you are not limited to one) to a Work Package.

To start the process, edit your Work Package.

Choose from the available Drawing Sets and add them to your Work Package.

Note: To learn more about ‘Modify’, see user guide ‘Managing Drawings on a Work Package’

Save your Work Package when finished.

Whenever you add or update a Drawing Set the team in the field will need to make sure they sync their devices to pick up the change immediately.

Using Drawings in an Inspection on the Hub

Edit an inspection that is in a Work Package with Drawing Sets assigned.

Find a Photo field; you will see a dropdown next to the button to 'Load Image File'.

Click the dropdown and then choose from the drawings presented.

Select a drawing to use, this will then be shown.
