Using GPS in the App

Any images displayed are representative only and may differ depending on the version being used.

In Clarinspect you can record GPS location within your inspections.  If you would like this field in your app and you don’t already have it, please contact our friendly support team.

Using GPS in Android

With GPS location fields you can:

  1. Display your current location’s coordinates

  2. Open the map box to manually set or refine your location

  3. Find directions / see a given GPS location on your devices maps app

    • This can be pre-loaded from the hub

Using the Map Box

  1. Tap to toggle between map types (default or satellite)

  2. Tap to edit location

  3. Tap to clear location coordinates (this will take you back to the inspection)

  4. Tap to revert to prior set location

Edit Location

Sometimes the coordinates set by tapping GPS aren’t quite in the right place for what you are wanting. To be able to alter this manually, tap the edit location button as shown above.

You will get an orange and red locator on the map.  Orange shows the original or last set location, and red is the new manually set location.

Simply drag and zoom the map as needed to get the precise coordinates you need.

Press the revert button to go back to the previously set location.

Note: Units on the map scale are taken from the region on the device. For example if the language is ‘English - United States’ then imperial units will be used. If the language is ‘English - New Zealand’ then metric units will be used.

Using GPS in iOS

In the iOS app you can record your current GPS location.
Simply tap ‘Current Location’ and this field will populate.

Map Box functionality is under development with the iOS app. Please keep an eye on our ‘What’s New’ newsletter for updates.
