Using Feature Prefills

Using Feature Prefills

Clarinspect Feature Prefills are designed to speed up data entry in inspection workflows.

By reusing information across an inspection, Prefills help improve consistency, reduce errors, and reduce time on site.

If you have Prefills set up as part of your inspection, you can use information you’ve already entered to fill in other parts of your inspection.

Prefills work from the top down. Information entered at a higher level can be carried through to lower levels where the same fields exist.

For example, in an Asbestos Inspection:

  • Define your Building

  • When creating an Area, you can choose the Building as a starting point to prefill shared information

  • When creating an Observation or Sample, you can use the Area as a starting point

Using a starting point will populate any matching fields with previously entered data. You can also choose to start from blank if needed.

This reduces repeated data entry and helps keep information consistent across your inspection.

Feature Prefills on the App

  1. Add your first level items  (in this case Buildings)

  1. You can choose a pre-populated first level item (Area) as the starting point for your next item.
This will carry across any pre-loaded information from the first item into the new item, so you don’t need to re-enter the same details.

Feature Prefills in Use on the Hub

On the hub, you can also use prefills.

As in the app, you can create items at each level, and use them as starting points for the following items.

  1. Once you have your top level items entered, you can ‘Choose from starting data’

  2. Select the item you would like to begin prepopulating your next item with.

SmartFills

Smartfills work differently to Inspection Prefills, in that they are created by an organisation admin beforehand in the hub, and used across a WorkPackage.

SmartFills and Prefills can be used in conjunction with each other, or separately.
